Principal AssociateJohn Farquharson started his consulting practice following a successful management career in health care. His work in the area of the learning and change of cultural belief systems began as a doctoral student in Religious Studies. Since then he has completed a M.Ed. in Adult Education and additional graduate studies in Organization Development. Prior to specializing in the area of culture management, change and development, he was involved in a broad range of human resource and organization development initiatives with a variety of clients. Projects included training, team building, change management, organization design, human resource planning, performance development systems, strategic planning, mediation, negotiation and a variety of assignments as a facilitator. His clients include firms from the wood, manufacturing, retail and high technology industries as well as the non-profit, government, education and health care sectors. This background enables John to quickly and effectively partner with internal and external specialists in other areas of Human Resource & Organization Development (HRD/OD). His network of associates reflects a comprehensive range of specialties in the field. John’s part-time instructor role at the University of Victoria allows him to stay current in the field of HRD/OD. He was the course author for Transformative Learning for Organizational Change and has instructed Adult Learning & Development, The Learning Organization, Team Learning and Facilitating Adult Learning for the Division of Continuing Studies.
